Inmitten der wunderschönen Hügel- und Seelandschaft der Holsteinischen Schweiz findet man die Residenzstadt Eutin. Die liebevoll sanierte, historische Altstadt direkt am Grossen Eutiner See ist Zentrum einer lebendigen Kulturszene.
Highlights sind z.B.:
Im Juli und August erfreuen sich die Eutiner Festspiele bundesweiter Aufmerksamkeit. Die romantischen Opern in einmaliger Naturkulisse begeistern jedes Jahr Zehntausende.
Ebenfalls für Klassikfans bietet der Eutiner Konzertsommer, im historischen Jagdschlösschen am Ukleisee, vom Mai bis September, verschiedene Konzerte an.
Zwangloser geht es samstags ab 11.00 Uhr beim Wochenmarkt-Jazz mit Biergarten-Atmosphäre am Alten Markt zu.
Unterhaltung ganz anderer Art wird ganzjährig im Theater am Schloß angeboten: Boulevard-Komödien, Kabarett, Comedy, Shows, Ausstellungen und Konzerte verschiedenster Stile.
Blueskonzerte mit internationalen Künstlern werden von September bis April im historischen Kneipenrestaurant “Alte Mühle" angeboten.
Wechselnde, internationale Ausstellungen findet man u.a. im Ostholstein-Museum und dem Eutiner Schloß, wobei in Letzterem auch stimmungsvolle Konzerte angeboten werden.
Mit einem Besuch dieser Veranstaltungen lassen sich natürlich auch ein gemütlicher Bummel durch die Shops und Boutiquen der Altstadt oder ein Besuch der bekannt vielfältigen Gastronomie verbinden.

Eutin is located in Northern Germany (Federal State Schleswig-Holstein), between Denmark, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
In the middle of numerous lakes, mixed forest and little hills (our region is also called “Holstein Swizzerland”) you´ll find our small city (Population: 16.000) with an old and young culturell history.
First settlers came 950AD, 1156 Eutin became a marketplace and 1257 the right to call themselves a city. Still growing -a castle and churches were built- Dukes and Bishops lived in Eutin as well as famous persons like J.H. Voß (Translator), J.H.W. Tischbein (Painter) and at least C.M.v. Weber (Composer) who was born here.
In this tradition Eutin presentates itsself today as a multiculturell city with a lot of events:
In May thousands celebrate the “International Bluesfest” as one of the big Bluesfestivals in Europe. In June jugglers, streettheaters, musicians and comedians come to the central places for the “Kleinkunstfest”, one of the eldest events of this kind in Germany. In July/August the “Eutiner Festspiele”, wellknown for atmospheric, traditionell operas, were celebrated in an open-air-area, located between a lake and a famous english park.
Bluesconcerts with international Bands are located in the historic windmill (“Alte Mühle”), home of a fine Restaurant & Pub, between September and April.
Close to Easter wonderful handmade eastereggs were shown from european artitists in person at the “Ostholstein-Museum”. All over the summer classical concerts (“Konzertsommer”) were realized in the historic “Jagdschlösschen”, as well as Dixieland Jazz close by the marketplace.
All over the year international exhibitions in the Eutin castle or the “Ostholstein-Museum” are looking for an interested audience. Theater, Dance-Partys, Concerts and Shows are realized in the “Theater am Schloß”.
Last but not least little shops, restaurants, pubs & streetcafes, located in the histotic center of Eutin, are looking forward to welcome our guests.
